We are searching for an experienced Software Engineer to take ownership of the further development of IDIAL, our application for certificate management in industrial environments. You will join a product team and be the person who turns a loosely defined requirement into a well-structured, integrated, deliverable solution.

Your responsibilities:

• You own the further development of our application for certificate management in industrial environments, from the user interface through the application logic to the connection to our core component via REST interfaces.

• You translate functional requirements into a clean technical implementation and decide on data models, interfaces and architecture.

• You design the workflows in the user interface so that even complex security processes are understandable and quick to operate for users without deep domain expertise.

• You use AI-assisted development deliberately and steer it with clear specifications, well-cut tasks and a critical eye on the results.

• You ensure high code quality through reviews, automated tests and documentation that others can work with.

• You work closely with product management and domain experts and bring in your own ideas on how the product should evolve.

• You think in integrations: how our product fits into our customers’ landscapes (PKI systems, identity systems, OT networks) and what that means for interfaces, data models and deployment.

• You abstract recurring patterns into reusable components, so that new device types, protocols and customer setups can be integrated without reinventing the wheel.

• You keep security built in from the start: secure coding, dependency and SBOM hygiene, and crypto-agility.

• You contribute a realistic view of effort, risk and technical debt to roadmap decisions.

What you bring:

• Several years of experience in developing web applications, in the frontend as well as the backend

• A good understanding of software architecture, interface design, and authentication and authorization

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development and the standard of reviewing generated code as thoroughly as your own

• A feel for good user guidance; ideally you show us this with your own projects or work samples

• Experience with container-based deployment and automated testing strategies

• Enjoyment in getting into new domain topics, and the willingness to take responsibility for results

• Very good German and good English

• Proven ability to take an ambiguous task, structure it, make the trade-offs explicit and deliver it without step-by-step guidance

• Strong abstraction skills: you recognise patterns, design clean interfaces and know when a generalisation is worth it and when it is not

• Based in Germany; occasional travel to customer sites

Plus points:

• First touchpoints with IT security, public key infrastructures or certificate management

• Experience with role and permission concepts in multi-tenant applications

• Experience in small product teams where you were able to shape a lot yourself

• Experience with OPC UA or other industrial protocols, and with automation hardware (Siemens, Beckhoff or comparable)

• Knowledge of enrollment protocols such as EST, SCEP, CMP or ACME

We are searching for an experienced OT Cybersecurity Architect / Senior Architect to lead our clients through complex cybersecurity transformations in their IT/OT environments — from strategic advisory all the way to technical execution at critical infrastructure sites.

What will be your responsibilities:

• Lead OT security maturity assessments, gap analyses, and risk assessments in critical infrastructure environments (energy, pharma, manufacturing, municipal)
• Design and review secure OT network architectures, segmentation concepts, and security service architectures for brownfield and greenfield rollouts
• Architect and roll out OT monitoring and detection solutions (NIDS, passive monitoring, SOC/SIEM integration, playbook development)
• Build and operationalize OT vulnerability management frameworks, including process design, tooling configuration, and governance across departments
• Assess and support compliance with regulatory frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and BSI SzA / KRITIS requirement
• Manage complex OT security implementation projects end-to-end, from concept and procurement through commissioning and handover
• Present findings, recommendations, and roadmaps to executive stakeholders and steering committees
• Advise clients on OT security technology selection and vendor evaluation
• Build and maintain key client relationships and act as a trusted advisor across multi-site programs
• Lead client workshops and security awareness trainings for IT, OT, and management audiences
• Keep current with OT security threats, technologies, and frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK for ICS)

What we are looking for:

• Minimum (5-8) years of professional experience, with a strong focus on OT/ICS cybersecurity and at least 3 years in a consulting or advisory role
• Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, automation, production engineering, or similar) is a strong plus
• German language proficiency at C1 level or higher; fluent English
• Strong working knowledge of ICS security standards and frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 27001), ideally backed by certifications (e.g., IEC 62443 Specialist, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor)
• Hands-on experience with OT monitoring and vulnerability management tooling (e.g., Nozomi Networks, Armis, Claroty, Dragos)
• Solid understanding of industrial automation environments: SCADA/DCS/PLC and industrial protocols (Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Profinet, Profibus)
• Proven experience designing OT network architectures and segmentation concepts
• Experience with regulatory and compliance projects in KRITIS environments (BSI SzA, NIS2) is a strong plus
• Project management track record on multi-stakeholder, multi-site programs (PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent appreciated)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both engineers and executive stakeholders
• Willingness to travel to client sites across the DACH region
